Co-directed by Saman Hosseinpour and Ako Zand-Karimi, the short narrates the story of a family that has to sell its only cow to live through a tough winter. The family’s son, however, is not happy with the deal, so he lets the cow escape.

The 13-minute short will compete against 39 other films from the UK, the US, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Russia, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Estonia, Afghanistan, China and Romania.

‘Slaughter’ and five other films are nominated for Student Film award of the event.

The Crossing The Screen is an international film festival, meant to showcase innovative and independent forms of visual art from all over the world.

The fest aims to discover and celebrate the new talents who are not afraid to examine new methods of storytelling.

The fourth edition of the UK fest is slated for September 19-22, 2019.
